Book illustrator
Ally-Jane McDonald is a young New Zealand Artist who grew up in small Waikato town,
Matamata. She is currently a student at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology
where she is studying a Bachelor of Creative Industries, majoring in Visual
Arts. Ally-Jane is particularly interested in making art which entices and
encourages the involvement of people, believing that participation creates
deeper connections with participants and richer experiences. Since starting her
journey as an artist, Ally-Jane has created a website selling some of her
smaller scale artworks. Ally-Jane enjoys a range of practices and mediums
including acrylic and water colour painting, sketching, printmaking, moving
image and more recently installation art. A keen learner, Ally-Jane is always
out to try something new in order to expand her knowledge and skills. When she
is not creating, Ally-Jane enjoys cooking, getting active, and spending time
with friends and family.
